High highway passes

Atigun Pass, with an elevation of 4,800 feet, is the highest highway pass in the state.
Atigun sits astride the Dalton Highway -- the North Slope haul road -- 244 miles north of the Elliott Highway junction and 328 miles north of Fairbanks.
When drivers cross Atigun Pass, they're also crossing the Continental Divide. The Dalton is the only Alaska road that crosses the divide.
