How can I get a Permanent Fund check?

The Permanent Fund was created in the early oil boom to invest part of the state's income from petroleum.

A portion of those investments' dividends are distributed each fall to residents who have lived in the state for at least a calendar year, who intend to stay here and who meet other requirements.

Applications for a dividend are available in the spring, and the money is distributed in mid-October.
