Will the state pay me to move to Alaska?

By Leon Unruh / Alaska.com
The state government will not pay you to move to Alaska. It will not help pay your expenses.

Moving expenses will have to come out of your pocket or the pocket of the company or organization you work for.

There is some "free" money, though, handed out each fall in the form of the Permanent Fund dividend. This is available to full-time residents who spent the previous calendar year in the state and continue to live here.

There's no free land for homesteading, either.
