If you're in Anchorage on the first Friday of any month, make sure to visit the art galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and other local shops that have art openings. Frequently, the artists will be on hand to discuss their work. Most First Fridays are from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 or 8 p.m. In addition to seeing art and talking to the artists, there is usually food and drink at most locations and sometimes live music.
